The story about to unfold illustrates the somewhat unconventional motherly authority of a young rabbit named Annette. However stories of this nature does not give itself away at the start.
For this very reason, the opening scene is as pictured above: the young rabbit 'mother' lying under a beautifully decorated Christmas tree by the fireside with her trio: Emsy, Happy Duck and Panda. With such a charming beginning, it could have all turned out differently I suppose-but it didn't.
For the very reason mentioned previously, our story will continue in the following fashion:
The Pantry was an exciting addition to the kitchen in the new house. As it was also the peak of the Christmas season, particularly yummy things were being storied there.
Being a naturally brave young rabbit, with the strength of a lion, Annette climbed onto the shelf, with babies in tow. Hanging Panda onto a hook as Sentry, she positioned herself to take a better look at her booty.
With Happy Duck beside her as comrade, she made her way up where the goodies lay, in order that she might select the coveted goods.
Making herself comfortable, and quite ready to settle in for the night, Annette lay on her back to enjoy the scenery: an array of delicious chocolates, spiced cookies and nutty treats.
With Panda still playing Sentry, the young rabbit thought that this was definitely better than a wonderful dream come true.
Having fulfilled her duty as Sentry, Panda went off on her own lone adventure (no doubt inspired by her most remarkable leader). Eyeing up a large mysterious blue tin marked 'Pandoro' in golden lettering, Panda wedged herself onto its rim under a half-open lid.
Emsy, not wanting to miss out on the fun and adventure, found her very own booty in the form of some HIPP Organic baby food. The best part of this discovery was that it was the same size as her!
Finding it somewhat uncomfortable to stay wedged on the shelf, Annette climbed down and surveyed her view once more. She left everything just as it was not forgetting to collect her young wannabes on the way out. And the moral of this story is: one can be a brave and fearless heroine without leaving with arms full of spoils.
The real reason was that there simply was not sufficient means of carrying so many things away, but even a rabbit does not like to admit to this, especially one given to 'witty-dittys'.
